Shopify B2B Quote Requests: A Practical Setup Guide

  • 1 min read

Wholesale and bulk buyers rarely check out like retail shoppers. How to set up a quote request flow on Shopify that turns B2B enquiries into paid orders.

Wholesale, bulk and custom orders usually start with a question, not a checkout. If the only path is an email address, enquiries get lost, quotes go out late and pricing drifts from buyer to buyer.

1. Capture the request on the product page

Let buyers add products and quantities to a quote list the same way they would add to a cart. Ask only for the details you need to price the order.

2. Price with rules, then adjust by hand

Start every quote from volume tiers or customer-specific price lists so the first draft is consistent. Leave room to adjust lines for special terms.

3. Negotiate in one place

Counter-offers, comments and revised quotes should live in a single thread the buyer can see, instead of spread across email replies and attachments.

4. Convert the accepted quote into a Shopify order

Once the buyer accepts, send the quote as a Shopify invoice or draft order so payment, inventory and fulfilment follow your normal process.

QuoteRise gives buyers a quote portal and sends the accepted quote as a Shopify invoice.
