Harbor Home turned price-shoppers into buyers with negotiated offers

A premium home-goods retailer used HaggleFlow to let shoppers make offers on high-ticket items, recovering carts that would otherwise go to marketplaces.

The challenge

Big-ticket furniture invites comparison shopping. Harbor Home saw shoppers add sofas and tables to cart, then leave to search for discount codes and rarely return.

The solution

We installed HaggleFlow on products above $300 and configured rule-based counter-offers. Each product has a private price floor; offers above it are accepted instantly, offers below receive a counter.

  • Floors set per collection based on margin, not a flat percentage.
  • Accepted offers expire after 24 hours to keep urgency.
  • Declined offers trigger a follow-up email with a final counter.

The results

31% of offers were accepted without staff involvement, abandonment on high-ticket items fell 18%, and the average accepted discount was lower than the store’s previous coupon codes.

Key takeaways

  • Negotiation gives price-sensitive shoppers a reason to stay.
  • Automated rules keep response times under a minute.

Shoppers used to leave to look for a coupon. Now they make an offer, we answer in seconds, and most of them check out on the spot.

They treated our store like a product, not a project. Every change shipped with a number attached, and the numbers kept going up.
